Buddhist Philosophy: the Power of Mind
Driven by the realization that life is pervaded by suffering, Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, worked out a system for becoming free from sorrow.
This system was based on the understanding of the power of the mind and its capacity for both good and evil. Our thoughts can make us happy or miserable, so it makes sense to try and master them, a mastery that comes from constant and perseverant practice.
In this talk, we will try to extract the essential ideas of Buddhist philosophy and see how they can be applied to improve the quality of our lives.
This talk will take place at our premises in Islington.
