Perennial Philosophy The search for and discovery of universal principles
In our multicultural society we are constantly confronted by different value systems and beliefs. At the same time, science is constantly changing, with new discoveries and theories altering the way we perceive the world. Can we possibly hope to discover anything resembling the 'truth' in this maze of contradictions?
The tradition known as the 'Perennial Philosophy' is a quest for the underlying principles that have formed the common foundation of all civilizations, religions and value systems. It points out that, beyond all the differences and changes, there are many similarities and shared ideas that surfaced again and again throughout history.
This talk will introduce some of these principles and the tradition that has brought them together. Fees: £5 (£3 concessions)
